The app

Clawd runs on your Mac and has no accounts, analytics, ads or crash reporting. The only network requests it makes are for updates: a few times a day it fetches getclawd.web.app/update.json to see if there's a new version, and when there is, it downloads the new version from Google Drive. These are ordinary web requests, so the servers see your IP address, but nothing about you or your work is sent. You can turn automatic updates off in Clawd's panel.

If you prompt Claude from Terminal or iTerm, clicking Clawd when Claude's done brings that exact tab back to the front. To do that, macOS asks you once whether Clawd may control Terminal (or iTerm). It only uses that to select the tab; it doesn't read or type anything there.

Music. When Spotify or Apple Music starts a song, those apps tell Clawd what's playing. To show the album cover, Clawd looks it up online: for Spotify it asks Spotify for the track's public preview (sending the track's ID), and for Apple Music it searches Apple's iTunes catalogue (sending the artist and album name). If you turn on Sing the Lyrics, Clawd also looks the song up on LRCLIB (lrclib.net), a free public lyrics library, sending the song, artist and album name and its length, and asks your music app where the song is up to so the words stay in time. Nothing else is sent, and nothing is stored. The music buttons ask Spotify or Music to play, pause or skip, which macOS asks you to allow the first time. Set Music to Off in Clawd's panel to turn all of this off.

To do its job it reads Claude Code's hook events and Claude Code's local transcript files (to notice interruptions and usage limits). It stores its settings in your macOS preferences and its daily stats (and anything he happens to find) in ~/Library/Application Support/Clawd. When you click Connect, it edits ~/.claude/settings.json and saves a backup of the original first. None of this leaves your computer.

This website

The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like any web host, Google processes technical details of each request (such as your IP address and browser) to serve and protect the site. We don't use cookies, analytics or trackers.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the download is served from Google Drive, so Google receives the usual request details when you load them.

Scene ideas

If you send an idea with the little courier Clawd, we store the text you typed, the page you sent it from, and the time. It's kept in Google Firestore and copied to a private Google Sheet so we can read it. We don't collect your name, email or anything else with it, so please don't type personal details into your idea.

Ideas are used only to decide which scenes to make next. Because they're anonymous, we can't look one up by person. If you sent something you'd like removed, send another idea quoting it and asking us to delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
